The Lords Day - 9/7/2008
17th Sunday after Pentecost
- Call to Worship:
- There are ways to honor God. One of them is to eat Passover meal in a certain way. The Israelites were to roast a year-old flawless lamb over the fire inside the house and stand to eat it as a family from head to tail, inside out with bitter herbs in such a haste. On the same night, every firstborn in Egypt was found dead from palace through prison and to a sheep pen. Isn't God supposed to love everyone even the Egyptians? Exodus from Egypt drives God's people into the wilderness until they reach the Promised Land. It has little things to do with their physical comfort. So does the salvation through Jesus' blood. Do you struggle in your wilderness? Rejoice. It is a good sign that you are heading for the right direction. A person with no sense of direction doesn't even bother. In what way do you honor God today?
