- Sermon Outline:
In last week’s New Testament Lesson, the author of the Epistle to the Hebrews reminded the little church to whom he was writing of the hero’s of the faith who had run the race before them. Now they have passed on the baton of this rely race to this little church and have taken their seats in the stadium as a “cloud of witness”. The little church has been running their part of the race for some time. They are weary and discouraged, and are tempted to give up the race and quit. The author writes to encourage them. “Keep your eyes on Jesus,” he says, who completed his part of the race “that you might not grow weary or lose heart.” Now the baton has been passed on to us. Let us follow in their steps!
